Work you’ll do:
 
The Senior Storage Operations Engineer reports to the Senior Operations Manager. The role focuses on providing operational and project support ensuring that the GTI hosted and managed services/applications and the virtualization and compute layers are highly available.

This very interesting and diverse role will include responsibilities such as:

Contribute to producing and maintaining processes, procedures, operational and architectural documentation meeting GTI standards
Owns 24×365 storage operation and management
Supports infrastructure applications from a Storage function as required, including Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare, SQL Server, SharePoint, SAP and Microsoft Clustering
Is responsible for ensuring all SAN equipment, i.e. arrays, switches, other connected devices within the data center(s) conform to the same standard configurations and code/firmware levels that are in line with best practices

The Data & Analytics Tech Lead will possess in-depth technical knowledge of Business Intelligence/Analytics technologies including Big Data, Machine Learning and Visualisation solutions, and the associated data governance practices. In addition, the role requires a deep understanding of project management standards, both traditional waterfall and Agile, as well as solid functional knowledge of Customer engagement, Multi-channel marketing and Commercial Operations processes.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

• Leverage strength and depth of BI technology skillset to help shape the Intercontinental BI Strategy in line with industry best practice analytical maturity models, seeking to provide GSK Pharma with a strong competitive advantage in the analytics space
• Design fit for purpose regional BI architecture incorporating key technologies across the data layer, visualization layer and in the advanced analytics (AI) space, ensuring alignment to regional and global BI strategies
• Collaborate with Regional Business Insights and Data leads to scope, design and deliver new BI requirements including innovative analytics experiments (Proof of Concepts and pilots) to help shape future strategy for the region
• Develop a robust adoption plan for the BI tools and solutions across the region, working with the regional business BI & Data leads and LOC BI & Tech teams to build capability and embed the changes
• Contribute to the definition, operation and continuous improvement of BI and Data governance processes across the region, striving for simplification and standardization
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders across Regional Commercial Operations team, Market Tech teams, Market Business Insights analysts, Global technical delivery teams
• Deliver Qliksense data models and visualisations in alignment with User Stories / User requirements, either through hands-on development or via engagement of third parties
• Identify opportunities for improvements to the ways in which we embed usage of our BI tools across the region
• Manage BI project governance, plans, deliverables, resources, budgets, contingency plans, risk mitigation and issue management to drive project outcomes across the region
