Principal accountabilities:
The Maritime Assurance Coordinator is the focal point for coordinating all marine terminal assurance and Partners in Safety activities in the APME region.

The incumbent will review marine terminal data & reports of marine terminals in the APME region as well as provide the Marine Technical Advisor (MTA) network with upcoming inspection requirements for Shell, JV, OSP & 3rd party operated marine facilities through routine data extraction. He/she will work with the local MTA’s and approved contractors for the marine terminal inspections & assessments in the region based on OCIMF Base Line Criteria and Desk Top Risk Assessments so that availability of the terminals is maintained and follow up advice to the appropriate parties is produced in a timely manner. He/she will maintain and update the relevant systems and will follow up on the findings and observations as directed.

As focal point for the APME Partners in Safety, the incumbent is also key in the communication with the APME Partners in Safety, interface with the Partners in Safety team in London, organizing APME Partners in Safety meetings and part of the organization of the annual Partner in Safety conference

Dimensions:
The role requires the co-ordination for the delivery of assurance for over 1,600 regional terminals and over 1,400 regional vessels including coordination approx. 20 management review per annum.

Special Challenges: The incumbent will face competing demands for prompt resolution of terminal issues and must be able to prioritize handling of such requests. The ability to remain rational, composed and productive under pressure is a distinct advantage in order to operate successfully in this role.

Requirements

Experience with marine oil/chemical jetty and thorough knowledge of jetty operations and marine terminal management.
Seagoing experience as senior deck officer preferable on tankers and in possession of Class 1 Certificate of Competency Deck Officer.
Fully conversant with international legislation (i.e. MARPOL, SOLAS and ISM) and Industry Standards, codes and Guidelines (i.e. SIRE, ISGOTT, MTMSA, Maritime Terminal Baseline Criteria).
The ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels within an organization is key therefore excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships is required
Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
Ability to manage conflicting and last-minute priorities.
High level of interpersonal skills as you will be delivering messages under time pressure.
Excellent computer skills e.g. excel, word, access, sharepoint etc
Demonstrated evidence of being a team player that fits in easily and works well with others.
Understanding of maritime assurance processes and exposure to a regulatory environment would be an advantage.
