Etching Profile Monitor in SPACE Images
As the semiconductor requires more layers of stacks with shrinking CD- the
wafer etching uniformity control is becoming crucial for good yield
performance. Wet etching process is one of the key processes that impacts due
to process and hardware variation. In current practice of troubleshooting and
process characterization- engineers typically performs intensive data
extraction- reformatting and analyzes wafer etching rate by region. This
procedure is tedious and time consuming. To improve on the productivity and
detection capability- our goal is to develop an application to provide visual
visibility on wafer etching profile images and detect deviation through SPACE
software.

§ Scope: The student will assist to develop an application to monito

inline SPACE charts (Scatter- Thickness- Etch Rate) for non-production as wel

as production wafers through images`. And correlate this data into production
Run to Run system to automate the upstream/downstream compensation. The
student would be introduced to the key process before commencing the project.
In the course of work- the student will have an opportunity to work with
engineers from various departments.

§ Deliverable: Enhance the SPACE software to have etch profile monitoring
capability by image and integrate into run to run system for process quality
stability.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without
regard to race- color- religion- sex- sexual orientation- gender identity-
national origin- veteran or disability status.

2020 Intern – F10 PEE ADTS (Dry Etch) – MICRON – Singapore

Req. ID: 140902
Description: Dry etching refers to the removal of material- typically a
masked pattern of semiconductor material- by exposing the material to a
bombardment of ions that dislodge portions of the material from the exposed
surface. The etching rate and the plasma ion directionality are heavily
depends on tool design and configuration. In this project- students will have
the hands-on opportunity to work on advanced industry-leading Etch Tool- gain
1st hand experience of Semiconductor Fab operations. Students will work with
Process Engineering team and Tool Installation team on new tool
characterization and qualification.
Scope: Perform process characterization for Dry Etch tools with tunable
voltage edge rings and develop optimized process conditions. Collaborate wit

the process and equipment engineers to study and understand the effect

between the plasma etch condition and hardware design. Student will be able t

learn how to use statistical tools- fab-specific applications and software fo

operations/datamining; as well as perform Design of Experiment (DOE) to
optimize the process/equipment.

Deliverable: Characterization data on the tunable edge ring across parts
lifetime. Develop Best Known Method to reduce variation on this tool type and
automate the process monitoring.

2020 Intern – F10 Facilities (Control) – MICRON – Singapore

Req. ID: 140621
_Description_
IIoT is the hottest talk in town. And all IoT projects starts from the ability
to sense the perimeter in query- and collecting the data before
analyzing/interpretating it. There are 2 projects inline with this topic: (1)
Vibration monitoring and (2) Partial discharge (PD) monitoring.
Project #1: Vibration sensors
Vibration monitoring a crucial perimeter for rotating machines- using
accelerometers to measure changes in Amplitude- Frequency- and Intensity of
forces that damage rotating equipment. Studying vibration measurements is a
useful indicator for users to discover imbalance- looseness- misalignment- or
bearing wear in equipment prior to failure- a crucial factor to reduce cos

and improve equipment reliability.

Project #2: Partial discharge (PD) monitoring

PD is a condition based monitoring of an electrical discharge or spark that
bridges a small portion of the insulation between two conducting electrodes-
and can happen at any point in the insulation system- where the electric field
strength exceeds the breakdown strength of that portion of the insulating
material. Insulation failure is one of the principal causes of forced outages
for switchgear- dry type transformers- and generators- which result in
considerable damage and lost revenues.

Scope:

Students will be assigned to one of the above projects- and gain 1st hand
experience of Critical Facilities operations with hands-on opportunity to work
on advanced industry equipment. He/She will need to understand current
Facilities UPW Operations/Maintenance and in the course of work- the
opportunity to work with engineers from other departments- and experience
actual equipment maintenance. He/She will also be able to learn how to use
statistical tools- and software for operations.

Deliverable:

To identify opportunities and innovative solutions to improve current
Facilities equipment without compromising Safety and Quality. Develop Best
Known Method to improve equipment uptime and reduce premature failures.

This position is open to Interns only.
